About Rumours Restaurant Rumours is well known as one of the finest restaurants on the Kapiti Coast and has received many accolades over the years. Rumours is an award-winning restaurant which combines excellence in food quality and presentation with an extensive and well-chosen wine list. And for the ninth year in a row Rumours has been awarded the New Zealand Beef and Lamb Hallmark of Excellence 2008. This is what Cuisine Magazine, in 2006, had to say – "Chef Simon Wislang regularly wins awards; the black pudding, lamb, duck confit and Waikanae crab are legendary." Praise indeed, but not only is the food and wine an important part of the Rumours dining experience, so too is the friendly and professional service. Simon Wislang, the chef /owner, gained his experience and reputation over 20 years as Executive Chef at some of Wellington's finest award-winning restaurants, and is currently in his 10th year at Rumours.
