Rumours is an award-winning restaurant which combines excellence in food quality and presentation with an extensive and well-chosen wine list. And for the ninth year in a row Rumours has been awarded the New Zealand Beef and Lamb Hallmark of Excellence 2008.

Simon Wislang, the chef /owner, gained his experience and reputation over 20 years as Executive Chef at some of Wellington's finest award-winning restaurants, and is currently in his 10th year at Rumours.
The great traditions or dining quality and service has ensured that Rumours is well-patronised by those on an easy ‘destination’ journey from Wellington and other places, as well as loyal locals.
The restaurant is also well known for its well-organised functions of many styles, catered at Rumours, or at a venue of your choice. The staff caters at some of the finest lodges on the Kapiti Coast, such as Greenmantle, Te Nikau and Hurunui.
